Book an SUVWhat "or similar" means: you book a class, not a model. We allocate the car at pickup from what is on the yard in that class, with the same number of seats and an automatic gearbox. The models shown are examples of what you may get, not a promise of a particular car. If you need a specific feature, tell us when you book and we will confirm it in writing before you pay.

Bond, excess and the rest
Bond
A card pre authorisation of $750, or $200 when you take the zero excess waiver. We release it the same day once the return check is clean. Your bank decides how fast the hold drops off your statement.
Excess
If the car is damaged or stolen, the most you pay is the excess of $3,000. Reduce it to $0 with our excess waiver for a daily fee shown in your quote.
The excess waiver
A contractual damage waiver sold by Why Not Drive, not insurance. One daily price in plain English, and the zero option has no carve outs for tyres, windscreen or underbody.
Drivers
21 or older with a full, open licence. No P plates. A young driver fee applies under 25: shown in your quote. Holding an overseas licence? Ask us before you book.
Fuel, tolls and fines
Fuel, tolls, fines and parking are yours. How each is charged is written in your quote and your hire agreement before you sign.
Kilometres
The kilometre allowance and the rate for any extra kilometres are shown in your quote.

Questions
Renting, answered
What do I need to hire a car?
A full, open licence, to be 21 or older, and a credit or debit card in the driver's name for the bond. No P plates. A young driver fee applies under 25.
How much is the bond and when do I get it back?
The bond is a card pre authorisation of $750, or $200 with the zero excess waiver. We release it the same day once the return check is clean.
What does "or similar" mean?
You book a class, Small, Medium or SUV, and we allocate the car at pickup. The models shown are examples, not a promise of a particular model. Need a specific feature? Tell us and we confirm it in writing before you pay.
What is the excess, and can I reduce it?
The excess is $3,000. Our excess waiver reduces it to $0 for a daily fee. It is a contractual waiver, not insurance, and the zero option has no carve outs for tyres, windscreen or underbody.
Do you deliver to hotels?
Yes, as an optional extra. Once your licence check and card pre authorisation are done online, we drop the car at your Gold Coast hotel and leave the keys with reception or the concierge, then collect it the same way.
Are you open on weekends?
Yes. The Southport depot at 31-33 Brolga Avenue, Southport QLD 4215 is open 8am to 6pm, seven days.
