Advice we'd give our own family

If a bank will back you, take their deal

A bank loan is usually thousands cheaper, and the car is yours when it's paid off. If the bank says yes, go with them.

We're worth a look if your car earns your income, the bank said no, and a steady weekly payment fits.

Not sure? Email hello@whynotdrive.com.au and we'll tell you straight, even if the answer is "go to your bank".

Shopping around? Good.

Comparing work car offers? Check these four things.

Put any other agreement next to ours and ask:

01

Is servicing included for the whole term, or just once a year? With us, servicing, repairs and tyres are all included.

02

What happens if you miss a week? Talk to us early. There are no late fees, and a failed payment is retried after 72 hours.

03

Does your rent pause if the car is off the road? Ours does when we can't give you a replacement.

04

Is the upfront money refundable? Change your mind within 48 hours and our setup fee comes back in full.

And at the end? Check whether your payments count towards the price. With us they don't, and we say so up front.

Questions people ask about the comparison

Why do you cost more than the bank?

We take the risk banks won't, and our price includes insurance, rego, servicing, repairs and roadside that bank customers pay on top.

A subscription looks similar. What's actually different?

A subscription ends with the car going back. With us there may be an option to buy at the end.* Subscriptions can win if you only need a car for a few months.

Wouldn't a cheap old car be the smartest money?

Sometimes, yes, if you have savings and know cars. But when the car is how you earn, a breakdown means lost clients as well as a repair bill.

Your work needs wheels. Why not sort it this week?
